Neurophysiology Technician (Neuro/EEG Tech) - PRN position in the Respiratory Therapy Unit at Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Hospital
Previous EEG/Neuro Tech experience preferred.
- PRN: 1 shift every 2 week minimum
- Flexible schedule to meet your needs! Evenings and weekends shift may be required.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Cardiac Evaluation Services, performs noninvasive cardiac related tests on patients for use in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent; coursework or training in the healthcare field. Completion of hospital basic EKG course or equivalent within six months of employment in position.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of anatomy and the technique for drawing and identifying blood specimens.
- Requires mathematical skills necessary for compilation of test results.
- Requires a basic understanding of the related behaviors, needs and comfort appropriate to the age (including neonate, child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patients served in order to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Requires writing skills necessary to accurately and legibly record information related to patient medical history and testing process.
- Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers, as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of a Manager/Director, Primary Life Services, performs all types of EEG's, evoked potentials, EMG's (electromyograms), video and surgical monitoring as assigned for use by a physician in diagnosis and treatment. Performs other Primary Life services procedures, as assigned. Serves as a technical resource to Technician I, Neurodiagnostics.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Registration/Certification:
- Successful completion of a formalized EEG program with R. EEG T. certification through the American Board of Registration Of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
- BLS Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience: Six months training in neurodiagnostic testing procedures including EEG's, EMG's, evoked potentials, and video and surgical monitoring.
