Position Summary

The Senior Director, Financial Operations provides executive leadership and oversight of financial performance across acute hospital revenue cycle functions, including Shared Services Centers, Coding, Health Information Management (HIM), and Medicaid Eligibility. This role partners with executive leadership to drive net revenue performance, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across a complex, multi-entity environment. The Senior Director leads financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, establishes and monitors key performance indicators, and delivers actionable insights to improve revenue cycle outcomes.

This role is highly data-driven, leveraging tools such as Excel, Oracle, ESS Base, and Looker Studio to analyze performance, identify trends, and support decision-making. The Senior Director works closely with cross-functional leaders to address performance gaps, optimize processes, and implement strategies that enhance revenue integrity and financial results across the organization.

Job Summary

The Senior Director, Financial Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing financial operations to support the organization's strategic goals and ensure financial health across multiple functional areas. This role provides executive leadership in areas such as budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, and financial compliance, depending on the needs of the department. The Senior Director collaborates with executive leadership, finance teams, and operational departments to develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies that enhance efficiency, improve fiscal responsibility, and support organizational growth.

Essential Functions

•Provides leadership and oversight of financial operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards.

•Develops and manages the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, delivering accurate financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.

• Leads initiatives to improve revenue cycle efficiency, collaborating with finance and operational teams to optimize processes and enhance financial performance.

•Establishes and monitors financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and support data-driven decision-making.

•Oversees financial compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and internal controls to minimize risk.

•Guides and mentors financial management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement financial strategies that support organizational growth, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.

•Prepares and presents detailed financial reports to executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations to support operational goals.

• Leads quality improvement initiatives within financial operations, working with stakeholders to implement best practices and streamline processes.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required

• 7-9 years of experience in financial operations, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a complex organization required

•3-5 years financial analysis, accounting and/or auditing experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Position-Specific Qualifications

• Strong experience utilizing data and reporting tools, including Excel (advanced), Oracle, and Looker Studio or similar platforms preferred.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing or partnering with Revenue Cycle Shared Services Centers, Coding, Health Information Management (HIM), and/or Medicaid Eligibility functions preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

•Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or

• Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) preferred
