Job Summary
The Regional Engineer will oversee the engineering and maintenance operations for corporate and hospital facilities within a designated region. This position ensures that all facilities operate efficiently, safely, and comply with regulatory requirements. The Regional Engineer will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and other essential building systems.

Essential Functions

The Regional Engineer will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and other essential building systems.

Essential Functions
- Leads and manages all aspects of engineering and maintenance for multiple corporate and hospital facilities within the region.
- Ensures the proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, life safety, and other building systems.
- Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
- Maintains records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinates and supervises contractors for specialized work when needed, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Ensures all facilities meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and healthcare-specific standards.
- Regularly inspects facilities to identify hazards or non-compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepares for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, environmental agencies).
- Leads or supports capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Plans, designs, and oversees facility renovations or new construction projects, ensuring they meet organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Provides engineering expertise during the planning, design, and implementation stages of projects.
- Assists in the preparation and management of facility engineering budgets.
- Monitors expenditures related to maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects.
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency improvements, and overall operational efficiencies.
- Acts as the main point of contact for facility-related engineering issues for both corporate and hospital teams.
- Leads or supports emergency response efforts in the event of a system failure, natural disaster, or other critical incidents affecting the facility.
- Develops and maintains emergency response plans for engineering-related events, including power outages, fire alarms, and life safety system failures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field. required
- 4-6 years of experience in facilities engineering required
- Experience working in healthcare settings (hospitals, medical offices) preferred
- Experience managing complex building systems in multi-site environments. preferred
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and energy management.
- Familiarity with healthcare facility standards and regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, ADA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills, including team management, conflict resolution, and staff development.
- Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
