Job Summary
The Regional Director, Patient Access will provide oversight and support to the Patient Access Directors to improve patient access priority initiatives, results and outcomes. They will also work closely with key stakeholders including, but not limited to,: hospital leadership, physicians, practice managers, patient access staff, corporate patient financial services, shared service center (SSC) leadership, that service the hospitals to effectively coordinate initial patient touch points in registration, patient flow, and financial data capture processes throughout the hospitals.
This role would oversee Arizona, New Mexico, and Alaska sites. Must be willing to travel.
Essential Functions
The Regional Director, Patient Access will provide oversight and support to the Patient Access Directors to improve patient access priority initiatives, results and outcomes. They will also work closely with key stakeholders including, but not limited to,: hospital leadership, physicians, practice managers, patient access staff, corporate patient financial services, shared service center (SSC) leadership, that service the hospitals to effectively coordinate initial patient touch points in registration, patient flow, and financial data capture processes throughout the hospitals.

Essential Functions
- Ensures that all organizational activities and operations comply with local, state and federal regulations, JCAHO standards and laws governing healthcare operations.
- Assists hospitals with the development of new processes and operational patient workflow to assure correct insurance verification, increase point of service collections and reduce authorization and denials.
- Assists hospital revenue cycle management with operational training of financial counseling and patient access staff as needed. This includes but is not limited to appropriate registration process; time payment management including patient estimates and establishment / maintenance of prepayment processes, etc.
- During site visits, monitors all Revenue Cycle duties for any non-compliance paying close attention to any Internal Audit or Compliance department findings. Assistant in samplings of accounts, develop action plans, and follow up training with the staff.
- Monitors patient access KPI's for the hospitals and provide support to improve results to meet or exceed leading industry practices.
- Maintains and promote good customer relations with facility management, physicians and physician office staff.
- Reviews Patient Access performance to ensure timeliness, accuracy, compliance and standards fulfillment.
- Identifies any significant issues in the Patient Access area (e.g., Registration delays, pre-authorization backlogs, etc.).
- Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements and company compliance policies, ensuring timely staff education.
- Informs staff of relevant changes and developments in payer requirements.
- Ensures quality review measurements are in place and understood.
- Identify and implement process improvements to lower costs and improve services to facility customers.
- Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
- Demonstrate leadership effectiveness in managing interpersonal relationships and managing self.

- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 8-10 years years of experience in healthcare patient access, revenue cycle management, or related field required
- 4-6 years in a leadership role managing multiple facilities or regions. preferred
- Demonstrate verbal and written communications skills required.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities required.
- Demonstrate analytical, organizational and leadership skills required.
- Demonstrate ability to manage both clinical and non-clinical work groups required.
- Knowledge in hospital system applications and Microsoft Office applications required.
- Working knowledge of the hospital revenue systems required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
