As the Manager of Laboratory Operations , you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for our patients.

The Manager, Lab Operations oversees a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, regulatory and compliance activities to ensure the efficient operation of CHS clinical laboratories and compliance with corporate policies. Responsible for understanding quality control, quality assurance, and the point of care testing programs within the clinical laboratory. Has a good understanding of all regulatory agency standards, how to find the answers needed for regulatory issues, and guides the laboratories to meet regulatory requirements of CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA,FDA, OSHA etc. Understands the CDM, chargemaster issues, and CPT codes. Has a working knowledge of group purchasing and able to talk to business partners. Able to produce, write and revise policies and procedures. Addresses complaints and/or concerns regarding laboratory functions and works with leaders to resolve the complaints. Collaborates with other departments to problem solve ongoing issues that impact department/organization goals and/or patient care delivery. Helps Labs with the proper utilization of lab tests, supplies, materials, equipment and personnel.

Essential Functions
- Effectively plans goals and objectives to achieve optimal performance. Works within Lab Services to meet financial goals.
- Works to help all labs be compliant with all regulatory agencies (CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLSI, CLIA, etc.) requirements. Understands the verbiage of contracts.
- Effectively keeps abreast of changes in laboratory medicine.
- Evaluates the capital equipment needs for the labs and makes responsible recommendations for procurement.
- Assures all labs adhere to the corporate compliance policies. Is accessible to the laboratory staff for consultation as needed. Helps with laboratory regulatory, compliance, and leadership issues.
- Evaluates all lab Proficiency Testing failures and assists laboratories in proper investigation and corrective action.
- Attends continuing education opportunities when available and cost effective. Represents the Lab Services at appropriate meetings and/or committee/collaboratives, or projects.
- Provides guidance to all labs in correctly answering and writing regulatory agency plans of action. Reviews lab corrective action plans to all Regulatory Agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences required
- Master's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences preferred
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in the Clinical/Anatomic Laboratory required
- 5-7 years of management experience required
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Database software.
- MT (ASCP) Medical Technologist or equivalent required
