Job Summary

Community Health Systems (CHS), a Fortune 500 healthcare leader, is establishing a new Automation & Optimization team within its Infrastructure division. We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Infrastructure Automation & Optimization Engineer to join us at the forefront of this initiative. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about learning, process improvement, and making a significant impact. Reporting to a supportive leader who prioritizes autonomy over micromanagement, you will play a key role in modernizing and automating infrastructure processes that support critical healthcare operations across the nation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure processes to identify and prioritize opportunities for automation
  • Design, plan, and implement process improvements using tools such as Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Build and execute automation roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders across IT departments
  • Develop scripts and automate tasks using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible to enhance operational efficiency
  • Work cross-functionally to establish and enforce IT automation standards and best practices
  • Contribute to both hands-on technical execution and strategic planning in a high-impact environment
Top Skills & Technologies
  • Experience implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) & CICD
  • Experience integrating AI-driven automation for dynamic resource provisioning and self-healing infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency
  • Experience with API integration with tools such as ServiceNow, VMware, Nutanix, BlueCat, etc
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python, PowerShell, and Bash
  • Familiarity with Nutanix, VMware, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is advantageous
  • Self-driven, curious, and motivated to take projects from concept through to completion
