Job Summary
The HIIM Supervisor of Data Integrity is responsible for overseeing the daily workflow assignments of HIIM analysts, validation, QICs, and ADI functions, ensuring a 24-hour or less turnaround time for all applicable queues. This role involves performing quality audits of HIM analysts, HIM Quality Integrity Analysts, and HIIM Data Integrity Analysts - Validation. The supervisor provides feedback and additional training to ensure that medical record documentation is complete, timely, accurate, and compliant with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Joint Commission (JC) standards, CMS requirements, and other regulatory and auditing agencies. The supervisor evaluates medical records to assess the accuracy of documentation, signature and date deficiencies, and ensures the integrity of the legal medical record is maintained. Additionally, the supervisor adheres to all Health Management analysis, validation, and QIC policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
- Provides daily monitoring of the analysis staff in management of all validation, analysis and quality analysis functions, analysis-related queues and processes. Manages Data Integrity Team (DIT) work schedules to ensure coverage for all applicable facilities and task queues to meet expected turnaround times.
- Monitors all designated facility reports via Discern Analytics.
- Monitors analyst/validation/QIC competency using standardized methodology and tools to calculate monthly and quarterly accuracy and productivity rates. Provides feedback to staff regarding their results. Provides coaching, mentoring and re-education when necessary.
- Tracks and trends consistent issues for educational opportunities for HIIM Data Integrity team and facility HIMD.
- Provides subject matter expertise and education on regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, State, CMS) related to analysis, including signature and dictation requirements.
- Assists in the development of HIM tools, resources, and education materials.
- Communicates any identified physician issues to facility HIM Director.
- Assists with creation and maintenance of job descriptions, policies and procedures and role-based competencies.
- Provides backup coverage as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Associate Degree Health Information Management or Healthcare related field required
- Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management preferred
- 3-6 years Acute Care Health Information Management required
- Knowledge of federal, state and payer medical record completion requirements.
- Detail oriented and ability to successfully manage remote staff.
- Demonstrates competency with 90 days of hire.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Database software, PowerPoint, and online meetings.
- RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician required
- RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator preferred
