Job Summary

The Employee Health Manager provides enterprise-level leadership and oversight of employee health and occupational health programs across facilities. This role is responsible for standardizing employee health practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening workforce safety and wellness initiatives across the organization. The Employee Health Manager collaborates with facility-based Employee Health, Infection Prevention, Human Resources, Risk Management, and Safety leaders to drive system-wide alignment, mitigate regulatory risk, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Essential Functions
  • Leads the development, implementation, and ongoing standardization of employee health and occupational health programs across CHS facilities to ensure consistent practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, revises, and maintains corporate policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with CDC, OSHA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Serves as the corporate subject matter expert for employee health regulations, workforce safety requirements, and exposure management protocols.
  • Oversees system-wide immunization programs, tuberculosis surveillance, respirator fit testing, exposure management, and return-to-work processes to ensure regulatory adherence and operational consistency.
  • Conducts compliance assessments, risk analyses, and gap evaluations to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective action plans across facilities.
  • Supports continuous survey readiness by partnering with facility leaders to prepare for regulatory reviews, accreditation surveys, and internal audits related to workforce health.
  • Develops and monitors enterprise dashboards and key performance indicators, including vaccination compliance, surveillance completion, exposure trends, and medical clearance metrics.
  • Analyzes workforce health data to identify trends, mitigate risk, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partners with Infection Prevention, Human Resources, Legal, and Risk Management teams to align employee health initiatives with broader organizational safety, compliance, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Provides consultative guidance and education to facility-based Employee Health leaders to ensure adoption of best practices and consistent program execution.
  • Leads corporate communications and annual campaigns related to vaccination, wellness, and regulatory updates to promote workforce engagement and compliance.
  • Supports emergency preparedness initiatives related to workforce health, including outbreak response, exposure tracking, and workforce continuity planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Occupational Health, or related healthcare field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in employee health, occupational health, infection prevention, or healthcare workforce safety required
  • 3-5 years of leadership, system-level, or multi-site oversight experience required
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying OSHA, CDC, CMS, and Joint Commission standards required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of occupational health regulations, infection prevention standards, and healthcare workforce safety requirements.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory survey processes and compliance frameworks impacting employee health programs.
  • Ability to assess regulatory risk, develop mitigation strategies, and implement system-wide corrective action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead policy standardization and drive adoption across multiple facilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience developing dashboards, interpreting workforce health data, and presenting findings to senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills to influence cross-functional leaders and promote accountability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex, multi-facility healthcare environment.
Licenses and Certifications
  • COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse obtained within three (3) years of hire preferred or
  • COHN-S - Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist obtained within three (3) years of hire preferred
