Job Summary

The Director of Business Application Services is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the overall management, delivery, and support of all business applications within the Community Health Systems (CHS) Digital Technology Organization under the Business Unit of IT. This role ensures the effective and efficient management of Business Applications across the CHS enterprise. The Director will lead a team of managers, application analysts, support specialists, and business analysts fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for business application services, aligning with CHS's overall IT and business objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and support of all business applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across the CHS enterprise.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in healthcare IT and application management, specifically within large, multi-facility healthcare systems like CHS.
  • Manage and own all Business Applications across the enterprise to include but not limited to application upgrades, patches, and enhancements, minimizing disruption to business operations within CHS business operations, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team foster a collaborative and supportive environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Accountable to the life cycle management of all Business Applications which will include planning, execution, sunsetting and delivery of application implementation across CHS.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for business application services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and security controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the CHS organization.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of ITIL and other relevant IT service management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices within applications.
Preferred:
  • 10 years of Business Application Management experience
  • Experience working within a large, multi-facility healthcare system similar to CHS.
