Job Summary

The Contract Management Assistant supports the review and management of contracts, including real estate leases. This role involves conducting preliminary reviews for compliance with Stark Law and Anti-Kickback regulations, drafting contract language, and managing contract workflow. The Contract Management Assistant collaborates with the Compliance Officer, legal counsel, and other administrative teams to ensure contracts meet corporate standards and compliance requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Assists with the review of contracts and real estate leases, performing preliminary analyses for Stark Law and Anti-Kickback compliance before legal counsel review.
  • Drafts contract language with guidance from the Administration, Compliance Officer, and legal counsel, ensuring all revisions are documented and approved.
  • Inputs contract revisions and edits as needed, maintaining accuracy and consistency across all documentation.
  • Monitors contract status and workflow in coordination with the Compliance Coordinator and Assistant FCO/FPO, ensuring timely progression through review stages.
  • Conducts research to verify compliance with corporate policies and procedures, including identifying fair market value (FMV) studies and justifying the business need for contractual relationships.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to the Compliance Officer, hospital administration, and physician practice teams regarding contract policies, procedures, and status updates.
  • Maintains accurate records of contract reviews and edits, ensuring compliance documentation is up to date.
  • Assists the Compliance and Privacy Officer with additional tasks and projects as assigned, supporting overall compliance initiatives.
  • Prepares and maintains reports on contract activities, providing updates to senior leadership as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in contract management, legal support, or a related field required
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting including a working knowledge of healthcare financial processes and regulations preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of contract language, regulatory compliance, and basic legal principles.
  • Proficiency in using contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail in compliance reviews.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external legal counsel.
