Job Summary
Insurance Biller will be responsible for billing and collecting on aged industrial business, in addition to collecting and facilitating litigation for defaulted employee agreements.

Insurance Biller will be responsible for billing and collecting on aged industrial business, in addition to collecting and facilitating litigation for defaulted employee agreements.
Essential Functions
- Check insurance eligibility and bill insurance claims when insurance is discovery is made by the collection staff
- Follow up with the insurance company on billed claims to verify claim status until closure is reached
- Follow up with PPSI and/or clinic as needed to reach closure on claims
- Send accounts back to collections once closure has been reached on the insurance claims
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Associate Degree preferred or
- A minimum of six months related collections or medical billing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 1-2 years Experience in a physician/clinic setting required
- Previous Experience with Athena platform required
- Knowledge of Flexible Automated Collections System (FACS) required
- Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. - Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. - Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Ability to navigate through the internet using internet search tools
- Preferred knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding
