Job Summary
The Audiologist is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing and balance disorders for patients of all ages. This role involves conducting comprehensive audiological assessments, interpreting results, and providing appropriate treatment plans, including the fitting and management of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. The Audiologist collaborates with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
Essential Functions
The Audiologist is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing and balance disorders for patients of all ages. This role involves conducting comprehensive audiological assessments, interpreting results, and providing appropriate treatment plans, including the fitting and management of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. The Audiologist collaborates with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Conducts comprehensive audiological evaluations to assess hearing and balance disorders in patients of all ages.
- Diagnoses auditory disorders and develops individualized treatment plans, including the recommendation and fitting of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and assistive listening devices.
- Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding hearing health, treatment options, and effective communication strategies.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment for patients with hearing and balance disorders.
- Performs hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and repairs, ensuring patient satisfaction with amplification devices.
- Conducts auditory rehabilitation and balance therapy, as needed, for patients experiencing vestibular issues.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, including audiological test results, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Master's Degree in Audiology or Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) required
- 2-4 years of experience as a licensed Audiologist, with experience in hearing diagnostics, hearing aid fittings, and auditory rehabilitation required
- Proficiency in conducting audiological assessments and interpreting diagnostic results.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to counsel patients and families on treatment options.
- Knowledge of hearing aid technology, cochlear implants, and other assistive listening devices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate patient records.
- Skills in fitting and managing hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Knowledge of audiological assessment techniques and treatment modalities.
- Proficiency in using audiological equipment and software.
- AUDIO - Audiologist license in state of employment required
- ASHA - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred
